Gerald L. Haas, D.O.

Dr. Haas has spent his entire medical career taking care of patients in Albia and surrounding communities. He began his practice in Albia in 1982, treating patients of all ages. He is a board certified family physician. Dr. Haas, a native of Michigan, completed his undergraduate studies at Central College in Pella and attended the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences (now Des Moines University) in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his residency at Des Moines General Hospital. Dr. Haas serves as Medical Examiner of Monroe County.

Dr. Haas and his wife Kristy reside in Albia. They are the parents of three sons and a daughter and the proud grandparents of twin granddaughters, Olivia and Rylie. Dr. Haas enjoys fishing in Canada each summer, traveling, walking his dog and photography. His best photography moments are photos of his granddaughters and of nature.

Dr. Randall began her medical practice in Albia in 1996 after completing her family practice residency at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. She graduated from Iowa State University and received her medical degree from the University of Iowa School of Medicine. Dr. Randall is originally from Chariton and is a board certified family physician.

Dr. Randall and her husband Mike reside in rural Albia. She and Mike have three children. In her free time, you can find Dr. Randall working in her yard and flower beds and keeping track of her many pets- cats and dogs.

Ted Church, M.D. joined MCHC in March 2011. Dr. Church was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  He grew up in Washington State in a small town between Mt. St Helens and Mt. Rainier. He went to med school at the University of Iowa, Iowa City. It was at the University of Iowa that he met his wife of almost 31 years.  His late wife, Jeanne Beary Church, was originally from the Albia area. Ted and Jeanne have two children; a son who lives in Las Vegas, Nevada and works with autistic children and their families; and a daughter who was a Captain in the Army.

Dr. Church completed his residency in Casper, Wyoming. He practiced family medicine for several years in Washington State in a small town of 1200 people. He later practiced in Wyoming as well.  Dr. Church enjoys hunting (usually by himself) in his spare time. He also likes taking care of people. He says he enjoys his work and he even describes it as "Fun".

 

Alex Curiel, M.D.   Alex Curiel, M.D.

Dr. Curiel joined Monroe County Hospital & Clinics in November, 2009. He was born in Mexico, but grew up in Northern California. He is a graduate of Benedictine College, Atchison, Kansas and received his Doctor of Medicine from University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed his family practice residency in Salina, Kansas. He was in practice in Oakley, Kansas from 2007-2009. He is a board certified family physician with a special interest in endoscopy, orthopedics, pediatrics and fertility care. He performs colonoscopy and EGD at Monroe County Hospital & Clinics. Dr. Curiel is fluent in Spanish and enjoys seeing patients of all ages.

Dr. Curiel and his wife, Melissa, reside in Albia. They are the proud parents of five young daughters and a son. He spends his free time weight lifting, watching movies and enjoying his children. He enjoys authentic Mexican food.

Joshwa Tromblee, D.O.

Dr. Tromblee will join the medical team at Monroe County Hospital & Clinics in May; taking appointments beginning Monday, May 20th. 

Dr. Tromblee completed undergraduate studies in New Mexico and graduated medical school at Des Moines University (DMU). He completed his residency at Iowa Lutheran Hospital and Broadlawns Medical Center, both in Des Moines. Tromblee grew up in Alaska living in log cabins without water or electricity for many years.  He and his wife, Deborah, have three young children, two sons and a daughter.  The entire family enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening.

Lori is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner who received her Master of Science in Nursing from Clarkson College, Omaha, Nebraska. Lori attended nursing school at Indian Hills Community College and received her BSN at Marycrest in Davenport. Lori has worked for the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center and has practiced as a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner since 1996. Lori has a special interest in diabetes and is a Certified Diabetes Educator. She sees patients of all ages for illness and preventive healthcare, including immunizations.

Lori and her husband, Ray, reside in Albia. They have three children. Lori enjoys golfing, quilting and traveling.

Jennifer received her BSN from the University of Iowa. She attended Graceland University while working as an RN at Monroe County Hospital to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing in 2005. In addition to Monroe County Hospital & Clinics, she has practiced as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner at Ottumwa Pediatrics and Monroe County Hospital Emergency Department. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner who takes care of patients of all ages for illness and preventive healthcare, including immunizations.

Jennifer and her husband, Kevin, reside in Albia. They have three young children and a family dog. Jenn enjoys spending time with her kids and attending sporting events.

Dr. Marcus, a native of South Africa, received a medical degree from the University of Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg. He then completed surgery and internal medicine internships at Johannesburg General Hospital; and senior internships in surgery and anesthesiology, and a residency in internal medicine at the Johannesburg Group of Teaching Hospitals.

After two years of military service, Dr. Marcus completed a cardiology research fellowship at the University of Witwatersrand; a clinical cardiology fellowship at the Johannesburg Group of Teaching Hospitals; and a clinical/research fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

History: Greg Moore is the owner and audiologist of the Moore Hearing Clinic. He graduated from the University Iowa in 1976 with an MA in Audiology. In 2005, he received an Au.D. in Audiology from Salus University, in Pennsylvania. Has been in private practice at the Moore Hearing Clinic since 1987, and prior to that, he was the audiologist for Dr. William McMillan and the Southern Prairie AEA. Greg was recently named the top hearing aid dispenser in the state of Iowa and is serving his third term on the Iowa Hearing Aid Dispenser Licensure Board.
