Due to growth, Monroe County Hospital and Clinics has added a new position in the Business Office and is currently seeking a Revenue Cycle Clerk.


Job Schedule

Full-time: Monday – Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the attainment of key performance metrics and revenue cycle goals.
  • Assists with daily reports impacting the revenue cycle (suspense accounts, GL mapping monitoring, revenue code mismatch, charge capture to include suspended charges and charges on test encounters, aging accounts receivable, discharged not final billed, daily and monthly revenue reports and incorrect discharge dispositions).
  • Assists with denial management.
  • Basic cross-training in business office and billing positions acting as backup as needed.
  • Assists with weekly refund check process.
  • Maintains commercial payer databases for new and termed providers.
  • Assists with registration quality data.
  • Assists with IPOP data submission.
  • Assists with the Financial Assistance process.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Mandatory reporter certified or within 90 days of hire.
  • Overall attention to detail, organizational ability, and ability to prioritize.
  • The ability to work in teams and communicate accurately and clearly.
  • Computer experience using Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proficient in English to communicate with patients, families, and other caregivers.


Preferred education and experience
  • Associate’s degree in related field.
  • Working knowledge of CPT and HCPCS codes.
  • Experience in hospital and/or medical facility.
  • Customer service experience
