The Monroe County Hospital & Clinics is proud to announce Alyssa Hobart has been chosen as one of 100 Great Nurses in Iowa 2011. Hobart is a registered nurse in the Med-Surg Department at MCHC.
The 100 Great Iowa Nurses award recognizes nurses who have made a meaningful and lasting contribution to their profession and are viewed as a mentor to others. Monroe County Hospital & Clinics Assistant Administrator of Patient Services, Julie Fenoglio, commented, “Alyssa exemplifies the principles on which the 100 Great Nurses Celebration was founded. We are extremely honored to have Alyssa on our team and providing the very best care to our patients.” Alyssa was nominated by administration and peers at MCHC.
Hobart will be among the 100 nurses honored at a reception in Des Moines on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the seventh-annual celebration of Iowa’s Great Nurses. Hobart shared, “I am very excited about receiving this award. It means a lot that people think enough about me, my knowledge base, and my style of nursing to nominate me. It means a lot to receive the award.”
Nurses selected for the honor represent many sectors of health care, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and school and office nurses. The primary sponsors of the event are Mercy Health Network, the University of Iowa College of Nursing, Des Moines Register, Iowa Health Systems, and the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
