What is Cardiac Rehab?
Cardiac Rehab is a medically supervised exercise program that will help patients regain strength and confidence. It will allow the patient to incorporate healthy life changes and become more active. This program will help improve cardiovascular health for those recovering from:
- Heart Attack
- Coronary bypass surgery
- Heart valve surgery
- Coronary artery angioplasty or stents
- Heart transplant
- Stable chronic heart failure with EF 35% or lower
- Current stable angina (chest pain)
How does the Cardiac Rehab Program work?
- A referral is needed from your Cardiologist or Primary Care Provider.
- Contact your insurance to answer any questions about your coverage for Cardiac Rehab.
- Once a referral is received our staff will review your documentation and contact your insurance plan.
- Staff will call and schedule an initial appointment to complete paperwork, initial exercise, and set up a treatment plan.
- This program typically consists of 24-36 sessions 3 times a week for approximately 1 hour.
- Education will also be offered that includes counseling on nutrition, stress management, heart risk factors, emotional support, and home exercise plans.
