Heather Cain was named the recipient of the Iowa Hospital Association’s Young Executive Achievement Award. Ms. Cain, who is the chief financial officer of the Monroe County Hospital & Clinics, accepted the award at the Chair’s Reception of the Iowa Hospital Association’s Annual meeting held October 6th at the Marriott Hotel in Des Moines. Established in 1984, the Young Executive Achievement Award was created to recognize up-and-coming health care executives, age 40 or younger, who have made a significant contribution to health care in the state of Iowa. The Selection Committee reviews appropriate documentation for all nominees and base their decision upon supporting letters detailing specific achievements.
Cain was described by a Hospital Board member as someone who exemplifies the characteristics of commitment, dedication and leadership excellence to both her business responsibilities as well as to her community and family involvement. And, a member of the medical staff said she has a combination of talent and engagement that has been very beneficial to the hospital. She has keen insight and can translate that into action.
Monroe County Hospital & Clinics CEO, Greg Paris, commented, “In my 20 years of Hospital Leadership, I have never come across anyone with the work ethic that Heather has. She works long hours, she takes work home, and she can be found in the office nearly every weekend. She is dedicated to her success and to Monroe County Hospital & Clinics.”
This award is presented each year to an Iowa hospital or health system executive who has demonstrated notable achievement in administration of the organization, and who has contributed to the broader areas of health care or health policy.
