MCHC Employees To Take BPTW Survey

Employees of Monroe County Hospital & Clinics are gearing up to take Modern Healthcare Magazine’s Best Places to Work Survey 2011.  Modern Healthcare, a leading publication that covers the health care industry, recognizes employers on a national level from economic development to employee retention.  Last year, Monroe County Hospital & Clinics was named the 22nd Best Place to Work in Healthcare and the 10th best hospital to work in the nation.

The program collects information from both the employer and employees and is open to any type of health care employer, including hospitals, physician clinics, and suppliers with at least 25 employees.  Employers complete a survey detailing company policies/practices, benefits and demographics.  Employees are asked an in-depth set of questions that result in an analysis in 8 core areas: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits and overall satisfaction.

Monroe County Hospital & Clinics uses the survey as a benchmark against other healthcare organizations across the country as well as a marketing and recruiting tool.  Of equal importance, being recognized as a top employer in the nation boosts the morale of the entire organization and validates the organizational efforts to provide a great place to work, receive care, and practice medicine. Greg Paris, CEO, added “It’s important that our community have quality care and service in their local hospital.  But, Monroe County Hospital & Clinics is also a great place to work, and this survey will help us measure how we compare versus other health care organizations.  And the two are intertwined; when you create a great place to work, great employees deliver outstanding care and service.”

The Modern Healthcare Survey takes place from July 22nd through August 5th. Notification of being named one of the 100 best places to work is expected in August with specific ranking announced at the 2011 Best Places to Work in Healthcare Conference and Awards Gala in Chicago on Tuesday, October 18th.
