Monroe County Hospital & Clinics is pleased to announce a $3,210.68 donation from the Monroe County Hospital Auxiliary. The donation allowed purchases of items to enhance safety, increase patient and family comfort, and improve operations. This includes:
• AED (Medical Clinic) An AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) has been installed in the Medical Clinic to increase patient and visitor safety. Time is critical to save a person in cardiac arrest and having this device in the clinic increases safety when there is minimal staff in the clinic (i.e. Saturday or late afternoon). These device assist an individual to deliver an electronic stimulation to a person in cardiac arrest .
• Bench (Maintenance) A new bench will be placed in the courtyard area between the administrative and conference room entrances as soon as weather permits. This provides additional seating outside for patients, visitors, and employees to enjoy nice weather. The new bench features a back for greater comfort and plastic coated steel for increased strength and durability.
• Heavy Duty 8” Vise (Maintenance) This vise allows maintenance to increase employee safety and improve customer service. This will be used to cut, drill, shape and assemble items faster and safer when completing projects for facility repairs.
Jennifer Archer, ARNP at MCHC expressed her appreciation for the AED in the Medical Clinic, “We appreciate the generosity of the Hospital Auxiliary in providing the AED for the Medical Clinic. We have trained our staff in the use of the AED and feel that this will increase the level of safety to our patients and visitors by having the device available.”
