Vegas Night 2012

The Monroe County Health Care Foundation and the Monroe County Hospital & Clinics are excited to invite Albia and surrounding communities to attend their Third Annual Vegas Night.
This event is exclusive to only 150 people and will be another exciting night to remember.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Albia Country Club. Check in begins at 6:00 PM and casual attire is recommended.  Attendees can expect to play Vegas-style games beginning at 7:00 PM, enjoy great entertainment, good friends and good food.  Tickets are $25 each and will be available to the public beginning September 10 from MCHC Foundation Board Members, the Foundation office, and local banks. You may reserve your tickets now by calling Dawn Maughan, Monroe County Health Care Foundation Coordinator, at 641-932-1689.

This year the Foundation’s main goal is to raise enough funds to assist the Emergency Department in purchasing a Central Cardiac/Telemetry Monitor at a cost of $25,000. This is a system that allows the Emergency Department team to monitor patients from the nurse’s station while keeping up with other patients and duties. It gives the ability to monitor vitals and heart rhythm and alarm if the patient’s condition changes. This will be used on pediatric to geriatric patients and useful on all kinds of situations such as cardiac, carbon monoxide poisoning, burns, trauma, overdose, and shortness of breath. Patients are less anxious when they know their condition is being monitored even when the nurse is not in the room. With this central cardiac/telemetry monitor, MCHC is better positioned to reach its vision to be the Safest Hospital in America.

Dawn Maughan, Foundation Manager, adds, “There is not one person in our county that hasn’t had a loved one, friend, neighbor or coworker that has had heart issues. There is peace in knowing that they will have state of the art equipment in the emergency room when getting their care.”

The event is made possible through the generous donations of various partners and friends of the Hospital, both locally and nationally including our Event Sponsor, Cerner. Other businesses participating include Kness Mfg. Co. Inc., Town Crier Ltd., BKD, Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative, KIIC, Albia Golf, Radiology Associates of Ottumwa, Wynn’s Dairy Bar, Aramark Uniform Services, Casey’s General Store, Clear Channel Outdoor, Hawkeye Farm Management and Midwest Health. If you would like to donate you may call Dawn Maughan, Foundation Coordinator at 641-932-1689.
