The Monroe County Hospital & Clinics accepted the resignation of Chief Financial Officer/Chief Information Officer, Heather Cain, on Friday, September 6, 2013. Cain will advance her career as the CEO of Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City, Iowa, effective January 2014.
Cain has served Monroe County Hospital & Clinics for 16 years. She has been instrumental in improving patient and physician satisfaction results and reducing expenses. Cain worked collaboratively to create additional revenue streams by adding orthopedic services, implementing the Cerner electronic health record system, and leading the rural health clinic Medicare inspection. In addition, she received the Iowa Hospital Association‘s Young Executive Achievement Award in 2010.
Cain will remain on MCHC staff until late 2013 and assist in seeing through several important projects — including meaningful use attestation and revenue cycle improvements, as well as continuing her duties as CFO.
