Suspend Wellness Labs

Tuesday, December 14, 2021, Albia, IA – Due to supply issues, Monroe County Hospital & Clinics (MCHC) has suspended wellness labs, effective immediately.  Wellness labs have been offered to patients as a walk-in service with no provider order needed.  All labs ordered by a physician or nurse practitioner can be performed at this time.

Unfortunately, this suspension is due to the supply chain disruption in the acquisition of raw materials used in the production of chemistry and immunoassay reagents needed to perform the lab tests. These shortages are affecting the entire healthcare industry.  They are expected to last for a few months.

To take extra precautions, MCHC wellness labs are being suspended immediately. MCHC apologizes for this inconvenience. An update will be sent when wellness labs services are revived. Thank you for everyone’s patience and understanding.
