THE DES MOINES REGISTER NAMES MONROE COUNTY HOSPITAL & CLINICS A WINNER OF THE STATE OF IOWA 2018 TOP WORKPLACES AWARD

Ranking among the top 150 workplaces in Iowa, MCHC emphasizes a family atmosphere that focuses around patients.

Albia, IOWA (October 18, 2018)–Monroe County Hospital & Clinics (MCHC) has been awarded a 2018 Top Workplaces honor by the Des Moines Register for the third year in a row. This year MCHC earned an even higher honor by ranking in the top 5 out of 50 mid-size employers. Based on anonymous employee feedback, this award reflects the growing value and engagement of MCHC employee relationships. MCHC also ranked as the number one organization overall in the area of training.

The Top Workplaces award is a national initiative to recognize employee-valued workplaces, based on the belief that the most successful organizations are the ones that employees believe in. Aspects of the workplace culture, such as alignment, execution and connection were measured. By championing best practices, Top Workplaces are better places to work and more likely to be successful than peer organizations.

“I am so incredibly proud of this honor and feel privileged to work with each and every one of our team members.  Our team members are the foundation of our success.  Without them, we could not fulfill our mission of providing a world-class health care experience for our patients.” said Veronica Fuhs, CEO of MCHC. “This recognition is also a reflection of the relationships our employees have with each other and their positive connection to the hospital.”

Employees of MCHC submitted statements such as these concerning their careers: “MCHC is a very family-oriented facility.” “Any time you have an idea, administration is receptive to listening.” “Fellow employees are friendly and pleasant to work with.” “We are always looking to make improvements to patient care!”

This award signifies the continued patient-centered culture within the organization. MCHC recently began construction on an expansion, which promises more cohesive outpatient registration, an upgraded nursing station and additional parking to better serve the community. Mission-focused, MCHC has a commitment to its patients, its standard of operation and the perpetual goal of overall high-quality care.
